Day 9 / Reims / Restday

Today I had (plaanned)  a restday in Reims. Reims la capitale de la Champagne......
My objective is to rest as much as possible after a first week running. An objective which, I may say, delivered with excellence. As result I do not have a lot to write about today.

After I woke up in my super de luxe room in the Youth Hostel in Reims I decided that I deserved a great breakfeast. Tripadvisor pointed me to a restaurant with good reviews for breakfeast......

I started walking to the restaurant.. Once I arrived the restaurant was closed....permanently. I start to ask myself if , maybe, I do possess magic powers that closes any shop/bar/restaurant which I intend to visit.  Luckily it was not raining so I continued my search for breakfeast. Due to my slow start it would be more fair to call It a brunch. I recalled I had saw a restaurant which looked nice. By luck I found it. It served an all you can eat brunch which was more than great. Not sure if they made a lot of profit out of me. Follow the dietary advise I received I ate quite a lot.....If you ever visit Reims and in need of a Brunch please visit : En apart The. You will not be disappointed.

Afterward I planned to visit the Cathedral and The Reims Museum of Fine arts.
I think the Cathedral is a must see. Although it would be difficult to not see it if you didn’t want to see it. For those interested in the history and background please check Wikipedia - it is a resting day for me after all -I took some photos though.

The second glass work photo show the work of The famous artis Chagal. If you want more info check Wikipedia (it is a rest day).

My next stop was the Museum of fine arts. Which was closed. My magic powers seem also to work for Musea...
After this I returned to my room for further testing and spend some time to plan leggings for the next couple of days. Afterward I excelled in Netflix binge watching.

In the evening I went to dinner In a Turkish restaurant after I had a beer on a terrace in the city centre. Oh yes, I forgot to mention. The sun shined most of the day and the temperature was around 17º.....no rain today (probably having a rest day as well).
The Turkish restaurant was one of the most Multi-Whatever places I have ever visited. The restaurant was Turkish, The guys who managed the kebab were Turkish Anne speaking Turkish to each other, The owner had a Vietnamese background, talking lenghty in Vietnamese over the telephone, The waiter spoke perfectly English, there were hip moslima girls sitting around, Then a gay couple came inside which was kissed by the owner, after that 2 biker-tattoo guys came in who were kissed by the waiter, etc,....so it was great to sit around and watch. I must say that the recommended “la speciale” was perfect and completely reflected  the place. If I become to life in Reims I definitely would be a regular.

I forgot to mention I also found a nice church called : St.Jacques. It was closed but I liked the simplicity of the facade.

And so came an end to my resting day in Reims.....
