Day 50 / Riezu / restday


After a dinner in the local restaurant with probably, no certainly, to much wine I had a good sleep.I wake up at 7.00 but do not leave bed before 9.00. Breakfeast is plenty : cheese, homemade bread and jam, cured sausage,...the lot. I enjoy a lengthy breakfast . The rest of the rest the morning I spend reading and updating the blog. I’m not able to upload the blog and it will take until next day l’m  finally able to do so. After a nice lunch, again, a siesta is needed. 

Late in the afternoon Stef guides me through the region, including a visit to a salt factory. The salt is made by evaporating the water which has passed a huge pile of salt underground. I learn that the salt is of excellent quality and marketed as the “caviar of salt”. We cruise the rest of the early evening though the valley and I get extensive information from Stef on the region, birds, Navarra culture,.....A VW driving Wikipedia. 

In the evening dinner is as it should be between people who haven’t met in a long time; good food, even better wine, a broad range of conversation topics and way to late to bed at almost 2 in the morning. We agree to have breakfast at 10.00. I manage to get to bed and fall asleep after a great day.
